Topic - Maryland Corps/Service year Option

The Maryland Corps/Service year Option is both an opportunity for Marylanders (18+) to participate in a paid term of service, and a workforce development solution for organizations of all types and sizes. For 9-10 months, our program participants - called Members - will work full-time, get paid at least $15/hour, receive ongoing personal and professional development, and will have access to mentorship, on-the-job-training, and other wraparound supports, not to mention the $6,000 completion award that Members receive after their service.

Employers, on the other hand, receive extensive financial assistance in covering the cost of hiring these Members.

The goal is to redefine service as something that is not contrary to employment, but rather as one of many pathways that an individual can take to launch their career.
