Baltimore County Covid-19 Public Art Project- Community Meeting
Tuesday, June 29, 2021 (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
(EDT)
Description
COVID-19 has claimed the lives of more than 8,800 Marylanders, including more than 1,500 Baltimore County residents, since Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski declared a local state of emergency on March 13, 2020.
To honor the lives lost and all those affected by COVID-19, the Baltimore County Arts Guild and Baltimore County, Maryland are partnering to create a free-standing public art installation which will be installed at Lake Roland Park, near walking and biking paths, and among acres of open space.
The goal is to create commemorative art representing hope, unity and healing to honor the memory of those affected by this global pandemic, provide a place for remembrance and reconciliation, and create a meditative space.
In order to gather the community's thoughts on this public art project, we will hold 3 facilitated conversations led by renowned artist Ada Pinkston. The first two conversations will be in person and the last will be a virtual meeting. Visit www.bcartsguild.org to register for this event.
