About

Palestine Lodge No. 189, deeply rooted in the heart of Catonsville, Maryland, has been a cornerstone of the community since its founding in 1891. Born from the efforts of local Masons seeking a lodge of their own, it emerged from Patmos Lodge No. 70 in Ellicott City to serve the growing Catonsville community. From its earliest meetings in Newburg Hall, - on the present site of Salem Lutheran Church - to the establishment of its own Masonic Temple at Frederick and Newburg Avenues, the Lodge has remained a vital civic and spiritual presence. For over 134 years, Palestine Lodge has helped shape the character of Catonsville through its commitment to Masonic values: charity, fellowship, and moral development. Today, the Lodge continues to serve as a beacon of leadership, learning, and service, dedicated to both its historic legacy and the evolving needs of the community it proudly calls home.
