Join us for an afternoon of Romantic and Jazz music on the harp with the talented Dr. Iraida Poberezhnaya. We will hear musical selections from Tchaikovsky, Griboedov, Glinka, Chopin, Doga, Gershwin, Garner and more.
Dr. Poberezhnaya is the Director of Music at Bishop Cummins R. E. Church, where she plays the organ and piano and directs the choir and hand bells. Dr. Poberezhnaya performs solo and in ensembles in Europe and in the United States. Her teaching experience includes the Azerbaijan Conservatory of Music, Baltimore Music School, Baltimore School for the Arts, University of Central Oklahoma and Wilkes University. Dr. Poberezhnaya is an active member of the American Harp Society and contributes publications in the American Harp Journal. She is a winner of the Maryland Arts Council Award in 2010 and 2015, and a recipient of an honorary certificate from the Russian Cultural Center in Washington, D.C. recognizing her contributions to building cultural bridges between the USA and Russia.
